It was then that Bowie Urban Planners joined Co-op America' s Business Network, an organization that has been growing the green economy for over 30 years. [TALK] They’ve Got The Power: Florida Power And Light Will Make 50 Newtown Homes Energy Efficient
The area’s only electricity provider has a bright idea in the world of benevolent do-gooding. They’ve decided to donate their services and make 50 homes in the Newtown area more energy efficient.
The goal involves relatively small tasks such as replacing filters, caulking windows and switching to energy efficient light bulbs, but most of the residents FPL will help either don’t know about these tips or are physically unable to do them. Candidates for the home revamping will be initially taken from the Operation Rehabitat project, which is an ongoing community mission to help 60 elderly residents rehab their homes.
