Florida earns D+ for energy
Florida’s energy infrastructure scored a D+, according to the study. The good news: electricity is cheap, about 20 percent less than the national average.

Let the sun shine...in Sarasota
Fueling Station the St Pete Times Energy Blog has this post on the Solar Energy Farm coming to Sarasota...
Florida's biggest utility, Florida Power & Light, says Gov. Charlie Crist will personally flip the switch Monday on the state's largest solar array.
The solar facility, built atop a closed landfill outside Sarasota, consists of 1,200 solar panels and produces 250 kilowatts (kW) of electricity, which is enough power to light 40 homes. No, that doesn't sound like a lot -- yet it's still the second largest solar array in the Southeast.

FPL plans for solar array in Sarasota
I will be signing up for FPL's Sunshine Energy Program ASAP... since they are building in my home town.
But the solar project FPL is building east of Sarasota -- on Bee Ridge Road, east of Interstate 75 -- is still expected to be the largest solar array in Florida, covering half the size of a football field with panels about 5 feet by 3 feet each.
It is being built to hold up FPL's end of the bargain with customers who have signed up for its Sunshine Energy program.
