Terry Osborn has 30 years of experience as an Architectural and Planning Consultant to private business, non-profits including U.S. Homes, Palmer Ranch, Florida Power & Light.
Terry's private architectural firm is a known local source for environmentally sustainable design and construction of business and residential buildings including presentation and CAD technical documents for permitting and construction. Terry has a Bachelors of Architecture and a Bachelors of Science in Regional and Urban Affairs from Ball State University in Indiana. He resides in Sarasota, Florida and served as the founding President of the Florida House Institute in 1990.

The Florida House Learning Center - Integrated Building Design
Between 1990 and 1995, Mr. Osborn had the privilege of leading the integrated design team for the Florida House Learning Center, located in Sarasota, Fl, is the first "Green" model home and yard demonstration in Florida.  Mr. Osborn was the Architect of Record as well as the co-leader of the public / private partnership that raised the funds, acquired the site and developed the Learning Center along with the Sarasota Co. Extension Service.
The Florida House Learning Center is Florida's flagship demonstration  model home and yard for sustainable design and construction. It was completed in 1994 and has received the following recognitions.
The National American Institute of Architects Top ten green buildings list for 1996
The fourth annual Florida "Governor's Environmental Education Award" in 1996
Since 1990, Mr. Osborn has assisted with the many programs and projects produced by the Florida House Institute for Sustainable Development including the following.
S.U.R.E., Sustainable Urban Rural Enterprise, a program developed in the early 90's that linked the urban and rural issues including the recycling of local organic wastes and the local production of food.
Urba-culture, a unique proposal on a mixed-use urban site, in the Newtown neighborhood of Sarasota. The project featured a flexible retail / farmer's market place for small local entrepreneurs and a training program for local youth in intensive organic raised-bed agriculture.
Martin County, Fl - Vision Plan and Meeting House. The Institute assisted the County with their Sustainable Development Vision Plan and Mr. Osborn led a design charrette for the "Meeting House". The green building project, located in a park, was designed to hold and display the Vision Plan and provide a state-of-the-art facilitation / meeting place for the community to discuss the future changes to their Vision as well as the merits of new proposed community projects.
Marineland Fl In 2001 ,Mr. Osborn served as a "Green design" consultant for the Duany Plater- Zyberk and Company team for one of their first New Urbanist projects that integrated sustainable development principles.
