Recycling - Reuse

Lots of ideas for recycling and reuse of things we don't want..

Green-Works

Green-Works is radically changing the way society thinks about waste. We ensure that redundant office furniture from the commercial world can be made readily available to the non-profit sector. We also offer waste audits, training, environmental consultancy and compliance advice. By preserving valuable resources, we protect the environment, create real jobs and help regenerate communities across the UK.

A registered charity and leading social enterprise, we pass on vast quantities of quality office furniture at very low cost to charities, schools, community groups and even start-up businesses.

WastAway

WastAway has developed a process for transforming household garbage into recycled, safe, useful, everyday products for consumers and business, thereby reducing our dependency on landfills.

Household garbage delivered to a WastAway facility is recycled by WastAway’s proprietary system. Twenty minutes later, the household waste is transformed into a stable product called Fluff®. The most unique characteristic of Fluff® is that it can be extruded to make products such as park benches and construction materials or it can be processed into a growing medium.

A typical WastAway system can recycle approximately 120 tons of household garbage per day. (Multiple systems can be used to recycle larger waste streams.) Not only is the cost of recycling competitive with current disposal costs at landfills, but it may also be less than the cost of existing recycling programs. Municipalities or counties may also benefit from state grant opportunities associated with a higher recycling rate.
