College Green Camp - Bradenton

Over on Roblimo's Blog I saw this great video he did about College Green Camp which is:

Florida’s first Earthship is being built in Manatee County. Designed to be in harmony with the environment and entirely self sufficient, this sustainable structure uses recycled and indigenous materials, generates its own electricity and processes its own waste with NO impact on the environment.
We are bringing together College Students, Builders, Government Officials, Architects, Engineers and Vendors representing the best new Alternative Technologies that are available NOW! All of this in one place for an experience that will jump start "Green" in our fine state.

They are basing their technology on http://www.earthship.net/

That is pretty cool! I am very interested in checking out this build; it seems like they are really doing some great stuff with the wastewater systems and the passive solar. The rainwater harvesting really makes sense for Florida; I have read lots of stuff about over-taxing the aquifer system here and excess storm-water runnoff being a problem. We need more homes like this that take "green" to the extreme. Hopefully in the near future homes like this will be the norm. Kudos to the General Contractor who is going way out of the box; did anyone get his name? That's the guy I want building my house!!!
